Country: United States
Region: Washington, Columbia Valley
James Suckling 92 points - Plenty of chocolate, berry and spice character. Medium to full body, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. This shows poise and tension. Solid. 100% merlot.
Founded in 1994, Canoe Ridge’s focus is estate grown Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery takes its name from the ridge located on the eastern side of the Columbia River, near Walla Walla, Washington. Famed explorers Lewis and Clark named this crest of land as they journeyed down the river in 1805. From the river, the two adventurers thought the ridge looked like an overturned canoe.
